September 10, 2010: So long, Dieynaba
Many of you have been in touch with her… our linguist Dieynaba is setting off for new endeavors.
Specialist of African languages, she had come to us from the CNRS-based LLACAN laboratory (« Speech, Languages and Cultures of Sub-Saharan Africa »). She was the main contact for all the linguists working with us and providing their precious contributions to help document endangered languages.
Always dynamic and full of energy, Dieynaba has played a significant part in helping us run sorosoro.org. We want her to know how much her scientific rigor, sense of humor and positive attitude have been appreciated!
Madagascar is where she’ll soon be taking off to with a project of her own, something involving languages, needless to mention…
May linguists rest assured, they will not be left aside, thanks to someone many of them are familiar with, and who’ll soon be rejoining the crew: Antoine, who was away for a few months, returns for the launch of a new project within the Sorosoro program. But that’s another story we’ll tell you more about when the time is right…
Meanwhile let us wish all the best to Dieynaba, and hope she’ll keep us posted!
