Last chapter of our musical journey with the Akele from Gabon: this week we present songs of the Mwiri rite. The Mwiri stands as a male equivalent of the Njembe, featured last week. These songs are part of a very important step in Akele boys’ life: a rite of passage through which they reach the status of adult.
