The languages of Latin America in focus
Videos subtitled in Spanish
The promise was made weeks ago, and this is it, all the Sorosoro videos that were only available in English and French so far will now be subtitled in Spanish.
We start with Kaqchikel, a Mayan language of Guatemala, and kick off with 2 videos on the Maya New Year, as celebrated to this day in the Guatemalan mountains.
Next week we will continue with 3 other newly subtitled videos, within the same series : a presentation of Kaqchikel by linguist Nikte Sis Iboy, an interview on the decline of the language, and a video on colour symbolism in the Maya New Year ceremony…
Happy hunting to all our fellow speakers of Spanish!
