June 18, 2011: Workshop on Celtic languages, La Sorbonne, Paris
Three researchers of the Social Sciences department of the Université Paris-Descartes (Sorbonne) are organizing a one-day workshop on the progress of research on Breton and other Celtic languages, to be held this Saturday, June 18. One of the researchers organizing the event is Denis Costaouec, also author of an article titled “From traditional popular monolingualism to State language monolingualism: an impediment to plurilingualism”, published on our blog last February.
The prestigious university will open its doors to a bevy of young researchers from the Rennes 2 and Bretagne Occidentale universities, as well as from the Sorbonne itself. Conferences will address linguistic issues related to Breton and Irish.
