From the 15th to 17th April : “Preserving the Future: Sustainability of Language, Culture and Nature” in Reykjavik
These conferences are organised by the Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Institute of Foreign Languages on the occasion of the 80th birthday of Mrs Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Languages and former President of Iceland from 1980 to 1996. They will address the links between languages, intangible cultural heritage and the natural environment of humanity, and the question of how these links can be decisive to the development and prosperity of future generations.
