Latin America
B’alam Tija, master of ceremonies in the Kaqchikel community of Guatemala, speaks of predestination in traditional Mayan way of life.
Latin America, which extends from Mexico in the north to Tierra del Fuego in the south, is not one of the regions that has the largest number of languages, but it is the place in the world that has the largest number of language families, which gives it a particularly rich linguistic diversity.
Here you will find a set of documents relating to these Latin American languages: videos from our field shoots (Kaqchiqel and Tektiteko in Guatemala), articles written by linguists and anthropologists, and description sheets of the languages and language families of the continent.
