Languages of Asia
It would be difficult to give an exhaustive list of all the languages of Asia because there are almost 2,000 of them! You will find this complete list in the “Language families in Asia” tab, where they are classified by language families.
We therefore list here only the languages for which we have established description sheets:
- Modern Aramaic languages
– Modern Mandaic
– Sureth
– Turoyo - kokborok
- Laz (NB: Laz is spoken mainly in Georgia, a country considered as part of Europe or Asia, depending on sources)
- Mingrelian (NB: Mingrelian is spoken mainly in Georgia, a country considered as part of Europe or Asia, depending on sources)
- Svan (NB: Svan is spoken mainly in Georgia, a country considered as part of Europe or Asia, depending on sources)
- Chukchi
We hope to expand this list over time and your contributions are welcome!
