New Caledonia on the bill
Back in New Caledonia with the Kanak this week upon the release of Mathieu Kassovitz’s Rebellion – the talk in town… and a good excuse to add a new video and a few articles online.

We’ve heard Marie-Adèle Jorédié on her language, Xârâcùù, and the Bb-Lecture program experience, we’ve also approached the difficulties of life in the Kanak highlands. This time we’re learning how to build a traditional hut according to the rules and customs, from cutting the wood to the final spire touch.

Fabrice Wacalie, a young Kanak researcher working for the Vale Inco mining operator to develop cultural projects in the Drubea-Kapume language area, brings details on what’s being done to revitalize these languages of southern New Caledonia.
