October 30, 2011: World Congress of African Linguistics call for papers submission deadline
The University of Buea, Cameroon, will be holding The World Congress of African Linguistics from August 20 to 24, 2012.
The event is themed Language description and documentation for development, education and the preservation of cultural heritage in Africa.
Discussions will revolve around the following six sub-themes:
– language in education
– language documentation
– the social dimensions of language
– ‘contact languages’ in development of African states
– intercultural communication
– linguistic analyses
People wishing to submit scientific papers to this congress are welcome to send 250-500 words-abstracts to the organizers by October 30.
Each abstract should be presented in two pages: the first page must contain the title of the paper, the name of the author, his/her affiliation and his/her full address and the sub-theme his/her paper relates to; the second page must be left anonymous, with only the title of the paper and the text of the abstract.
The abstracts will be peer-reviewed and decisions will be announced by the end of December 2011.
