April 30, 2010: New this week on sorosoro.org
This week Sorosoro suggests a little stop in three different parts of the world: Africa, America, and Papua New Guinea.
Videos
You’ll never guess how Mpongwe refers to television or airplane! Henriette and Kialla give us the answer in two new videos, online as we speak.
Contributors to these films are Patrick Mouguiama-Daouda (linguist), Muriel Lutz (image et sound), Caroline Laurent (editing).
Thank you to Henriette & Kialla for their time.
In English
Any sleep for Gwilym this week? Probably not, but that’s 11 more language description sheets on the English version of our website:
Elsewhere on the internet
We recommend a look on the « Basic Oral Language Documentation » BOLD project, aiming to collect recorded data on around a hundred oral languages of Papua New Guinea.
And as always:
- New questions on the Soroquiz
- The word YOUNG waiting to be translated in YOUR language, wherever you are. The A to Z is on our homepage.
See you there!
