May 30, 2010: Stéphane Robert pulls her tongue(s) on France Culture.
Stéphane Robert, CNRS research director for the LLACAN lab (« Speech, language and cultures of Sub-Saharan Africa), is Antoine Perraud’s guest on his programme Tire Ta Langue (« Pull Your Tongue ») airing this Sunday, May 30, 12pm.
She tells us about her academic and professional backgroud, how she made her way through the linguistic sphere and what eventually brought her to specialize on African languages, especially those of Senegal.
She also speaks on the Sénélangues project dedicated to the documentation of endangered languages in this part of West Africa. Sorosoro has contributed to this project by sending a crew to film on two Niger-Congo languages (North Atlantic branch): Baynunk, and Menik (or Bedik).
The first images from these sessions are available online… now.
