Quite a delicate subject judging by the different declarations that were recently made&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We\u2019ve issued two articles on where French political leaders stand on the matter: Minister of Culture <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sorosoro.org\/en\/august-12-2011-french-minister-of-culture-frederic-miterrand-does-not-see-the-point-of-a-law-on-regional-languages\">Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Mitterrand<\/a> on one side, and presidential candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sorosoro.org\/en\/september-14-15-2011-french-presidency-candidate-francois-hollande-on-regional-languages\">Fran\u00e7ois Hollande<\/a> on the other.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To each our own opinion!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Blog<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Marie Jeanne Verny<\/strong>, senior lecturer in Montpellier, France, returns to trace back the history of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.sorosoro.org\/en\/finding-a-place-for-occitan-in-the-french-republic\">Occitan<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.sorosoro.org\/en\/finding-a-place-for-occitan-in-the-french-republic\"> \u2013 or<\/a><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.sorosoro.org\/en\/finding-a-place-for-occitan-in-the-french-republic\"> langue d\u2019Oc<\/a> <\/strong>\u2013, its decline before French, and its recent revival.
