Speakers of French, attention please! Marie-H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Fra\u00efss\u00e9\u2019s show Tout un Monde<\/em> (\u00ab\u00a0A whole world\u00a0\u00bb) starts next Tuesday at 3pm<\/strong> \u2013 metro time \u2013 and devotes this week\u2019s broadcast to the languages of the French Overseas Departments and Territories<\/strong>.<\/p>\n For those who aren\u2019t familiar with the show, here\u2019s a taste of what it offers:<\/p>\n Today\u2019s world is made of a million worlds. The planetary blending hybridizes our lives, fuels our curiosity, ruffles our references, overrides our projections. New identities grow, languages disappear while others develop, buried civilizations reemerge, and peoples reinvent themselves.<\/p>\n Definitely on the same page at Sorosoro!<\/p>\n As it happens, the guests of this first airing are Rozenn Milin<\/strong>, Sorosoro director, and Michel Launey<\/strong>, linguist and member of the Sorosoro Scientific board.<\/p>\n The program will shed some light on the activities of Sorosoro in the French Overseas<\/strong> \u2013 with filming sessions in New Caledonia and French Guyana<\/strong> \u2013 and offer a chance to speak about education in indigenous languages<\/strong>, one of the field specialties of Michel Launey.<\/p>\n You\u2019ll also hear a bit of X\u00e2r\u00e2c\u00f9\u00f9, a Kanak language of New Caledonia, with a sneak preview of what the Sorosoro crew filmed over there and a presentation of Marie-Ad\u00e8le Jor\u00e9di\u00e9, a Kanak activist who created \u00ab\u00a0BB-lecture\u00a0\u00bb programs in order to teach X\u00e2r\u00e2c\u00f9\u00f9 to the children of her community.<\/p>\n \n \n Tune in here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
