The Fifth ASEAN Linguistic Conference<\/strong> will take place on December 21 and 22, 2011<\/strong>, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Organized by the Malaysian Linguistics Association<\/strong> and the National University of Malaysia<\/strong>, the conference aims to gather linguistic academia from the ASEAN region to share knowledge in their current research.<\/p>\n This 5th edition has been themed “A tapestry of ASEAN linguistics: research and the enrichment of the corpus of knowledge”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \n Propositions should involve one of the following fields:<\/p>\n – Theoretical linguistics<\/p>\n – Applied linguistics<\/p>\n – Corpus linguistics<\/p>\n – Comparative linguistics<\/p>\n – Language planning<\/p>\n – Language teaching<\/p>\n – Bilingualism<\/p>\n – Dialectology<\/p>\n – Language and culture<\/p>\n – Translation<\/p>\n – Cross-culture<\/p>\n \n Academicians, students, researchers, professionals or members of the public\u00a0from ASEAN member countries and others are welcome to apply.<\/p>\n Presentations should be made either in English or Malay.<\/p>\n \n Deadline for abstracts is September 15<\/strong>.
