So, this little team was in the K\u00e9dougou region from Friday 5th March till the afternoon of Sunday 14th March. Their main concern was the heat \u2013 it got up to 40\u00b0 both day and night!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Filming started well with the shooting of a festival in Bandafassi last weekend.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-15449\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sorosoro.org\/muriel-en-pays-bedik\/bandafassi_fete_bedik\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"bandafassi_fete_bedik\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sorosoro.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/bandafassi_fete_bedik.jpg\" alt=\"bandafassi_fete_bedik\" width=\"269\" height=\"202\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Bedik cultural festival in Bandafassi \u00a9 Cheikh Tidiane Sall<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Adjaratou Sall and L\u00e9ontine Keita (a bedik and manager of a camping ground) as organisers of the gathering, wanted to celebrate the bedik culture as part of the requirements of the Hans Rausing Foundation sponsored Bedik documentation project by Adjaratou Sall. So the inhabitants of the bedik village gathered together for two fantastic days of cultural celebration. The pictures should be wonderful\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-15450\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sorosoro.org\/muriel-en-pays-bedik\/bandafassi_fete_bedik1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"bandafassi_fete_bedik1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sorosoro.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/bandafassi_fete_bedik1.jpg\" alt=\"bandafassi_fete_bedik1\" width=\"302\" height=\"227\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Bedik Cultural Festival in Bandafassi \u00a9 Cheikh Tidiane Sall.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the programme the last few days were various arts and crafts: weaving, basket-making and pottery with products also being sold at the K\u00e9dougou market. Plus, there was traditional house building and walks through traditional bedik villages in the mountains. The filming of the bedik culture and language will continue on Tuesday 16<sup>th<\/sup> March and Wednesday 17<sup>th<\/sup> March in Dakar, where the team will be filming a musician and a series of linguistic surveys with Adji the linguist. After that, we will be filming on the 19<sup>th<\/sup> March, this time in Casamance.
