The film, incidentally, was <strong>directed\u2026 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sorosoro.org\/en\/eskimo-aleut-languages\">Kalaallisut<\/a><\/strong>, native language of Greenland.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Inuk<\/em> drew unanimous attention in Woodstock, winning the festival\u2019s <strong>Best Cinematography Award<\/strong> as well as the <strong>second Audience Award<\/strong> for fiction. The movie was also highly acclaimed in a number of articles raising the quality of its direction: never simply complacent with the amazing landscapes of the Far North, it also gives a tangible sense of the harshness and austerity of such an environment. The acclaim also goes to the characters who have inspired the film, Ann Andreasen and Ole J\u00f8rgen, who have spent over 20 years opening their doors to troubled youngsters at the Uummannaq Children\u2019s Home.
