The 8th edition of the \u00ab Forum de Lib\u00e9 \u00bb<\/strong><\/a>, curated by French daily paper Lib\u00e9ration, will take place in Lyon around the notion of a \u00ab sustainable planet \u00bb.<\/p>\n

These three days of discussion (September 24, 25 and 26) will include space for the question of sustainability for languages<\/strong>. Reminder: half of the languages spoken in the world today are endangered, and their extinction would mean that of a tremendous amount of knowledge.<\/p>\n

\n

Colette Grinevald<\/strong>, linguist and member of the Sorosoro scientific board, who happens to teach in Lyon, will be tackling the question of sustainability when it comes to languages. After assessing a global situation of the world\u2019s languages and delivering her views on the safeguard of linguistic diversity, she\u2019ll answer questions of the audience within a large public discussion<\/p>\n

\n

Along these three days, as always, the Forum will welcome numerous personalities of the French political and economic spheres, intellectuals and activists, who\u2019ll share and confront their ideas during a series of \u201cduels\u201d. Among them, Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Jean-Claude Carri\u00e8re, Jean-Louis Borloo, Fran\u00e7ois Hollande, Eva Joly, Jack Lang and many more. Access is free and open to all though subscription is compulsory.<\/p>\n
