Following on from the topics of marriage proposal, dowry, and polygamy, Sorosoro continues its exploration of the marital relationships of Gabon. This week, we\u2019re offering up a topic that definitely doesn\u2019t lack in excitement: adultery<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Put this date in your diaries, especially if you are a linguist in the United States, interested in non-anglophone migrants: the 5th of Augus<\/strong>t is the last day to submit your entries<\/strong> for the 25th Iowa Culture and Language Conference<\/a>, which takes place in November of this year, in Iowa, USA.<\/p>\n

Sorosoro is steaming ahead, adding many new language indexes to its website this week, with a special focus on Senegal.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the collaboration of linguists working on the project “S\u00e9n\u00e9langues”, eight new indexes dedicated to the languages of Senegal have been posted on our website this week:<\/p>\n

On top of that, we\u2019ve come through on our promise: French speakers will finally be able to enjoy the poem by Lucille Berry-Haseth, translated from Papiamentu<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In Spanish<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to our English language site, we are giving priority to updating our Spanish language site, thanks to the work done by our many volunteer translators, who have generously offered up their services after the article published in the Spanish newspaper El Pais<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In English<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The index on Ainu<\/a>, language isolat spoken in remote parts of Japan, is now available online in English.<\/p>\n
