This conference is organized jointly by the CRLAO<\/strong> (East Asian Linguistics Research Center<\/a>)<\/span><\/em><\/strong> of the EHESS<\/strong> (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales)<\/em>, the CNRS<\/em><\/strong> and the INALCO<\/em><\/strong> (National Institute on Eastern Languages and Civilisations<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Although most of the discussions will evolve around strong<\/em> languages such like Mandarin, Japanese or Corean, these two days will also see weaker <\/em>languages from this part of the world reflected upon:<\/p>\n

– Thpong\/Suay\/Maleng, an extinct language from Cambodia, by Michel Ferlus<\/p>\n

–\tThe Tai-kadai language group<\/a> (including 60 languages, some of which endangered) spoken in south-eastern China, Laos, Vietnam and Burma), by Laurent Sagart<\/p>\n

– Tagal (from Malaysia and Indonesia), by Jean-Paul Potet<\/p>\n

–\tetc.<\/p>\n
