This video is the first of a \u2018summer series\u2019 cycle devoted to marriage and its various side issues, please keep an eye open because there\u2019s a lot more to come!<\/p>\n

The English version<\/strong> of Sorosoro.org welcomes an unpublished poem<\/strong> in Papiamentu<\/strong><\/a> (Portuguese-based Creole spoken in the Netherlands Antilles and on the island of Aruba) entitled\u00a0So\u00f1o liber <\/em><\/strong>(2009), by Lucille Berry-Haseth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The French will need just a little more patience for the Papiamentu sheet and poem to be translated. Just a little <\/em>more patience, that is.<\/p>\n

America in the center of our agenda this week:<\/p>\n

– a conference on the safeguard and revitalization of languages in Vancouver<\/a>, Canada, June 5 and 6, 2010<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\n

– the first meeting of the CTLDC<\/a> (Consortium on Training in Language Documentation and Conservation), June 19 and 10<\/strong> in Eugene, Oregon USA.<\/p>\n

\n

– the second InField workshops<\/a> on the documentation<\/strong>, protection<\/strong> and revitalization of languages<\/strong>, from June 21 to July 30<\/strong> at the University of Oregon USA.<\/p>\n

\n

– and the NILI<\/strong> (Northwest Native American Languages)<\/a> sets up two events alongside the InField workshops: the Summer Institute<\/strong> 13th<\/sup> edition (from June 21 to July 2<\/strong>) with courses devoted to Amerindian languages of the North-West<\/strong>, and the 17th<\/sup> SILS<\/strong> (Stabilizing Indigenous Languages Symposium) from June 25 to 27, 2010<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
