{"id":1871,"date":"2009-10-01T16:03:09","date_gmt":"2009-10-01T14:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sorosoro.org\/?p=1871"},"modified":"2009-10-01T18:35:05","modified_gmt":"2009-10-01T16:35:05","slug":"june-9-2008-first-sorosoro-meetings-at-quai-branly-museum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sorosoro.org\/en\/2009\/10\/june-9-2008-first-sorosoro-meetings-at-quai-branly-museum\/","title":{"rendered":"June 9, 2008: First Sorosoro Meetings at Quai Branly Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In spring 2008, the program \u201cSorosoro, so that the languages of the world may prosper!\u201d was launched after the inauguration of the Fondation Chirac, main contributor of the program.<\/p>\n<p>These first Sorosoro meetings about endangered languages brought many lessons and emotions.<\/p>\n<p>Several well-known people for their implication promoting cultural diversity first explained their attachment to the preservation of indigenous languages: <strong>Rigoberta Menchu Tum<\/strong>, winner of the 1992 Nobel Peace Price, member of the Fondation Chirac honored committee, and <strong>Erik Orsenna<\/strong>, member of the Acad\u00e9mie fran\u00e7aise and Prix Goncourt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rozenn Milin<\/strong>, director of the Sorosoro program, had invited foreground linguists, from very different countries like Vanuatu, Guatemala, Gabon or Great Britain.
