Comments on the classification of the \u00ab\u00a0East Bird\u2019s Head\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0:<\/strong><\/p>\n

These languages\u00a0 have sometimes been classified with the Trans-New Guinea language group, but there is slim linguistic proof of this relationship and it is probably preferable to consider these languages as a separate group at this time. The similarities between the \u00ab\u00a0East Bird\u2019s Head\u00a0\u00bb and the \u00ab\u00a0Sentani\u00a0\u00bb language families is a proposal by Ross (2005) which we have adopted here.<\/p>\n
