A leading figure of 20th century thought, Claude Lévi-Strauss, who brought a revolution to the world of anthropology, passed away on October 30, 2009. This week we pay a tribute to one of the greatest defenders of diversity.

Françoise Héritier, professor emeritus at the Collège de France, knew Lévi-Strauss well and succeeded him. She has granted us the honor of an interview unveiling not only the reflection of the famous scholar, but also a sensitive and benevolent human being.
